Visitor Guidelines

Welcome to YSP.

The YSP Code remains as important as ever and is accompanied by new guidelines to address the specific challenges we all now face. Please read and understand these guidelines before you visit.

These FAQs include everything you need to know about planning and booking your visit to YSP and what to expect on the day.

See FAQs below for details of what will be open when you visit.

To help us keep YSP staff, volunteers and other visitors safe, please take on-board the following essential information before you visit:

If you or a member of your household has or begins to display symptoms of COVID-19, please do not visit YSP.

We are limiting the number of visitors on-site so you can enjoy your visit safely. YSP is a registered charity and has to generate 80% of its income. We need your support now more than ever.

Booking in advance enables us to control numbers on-site and comply with NHS test and trace. It also prevents the need for you to use the touch-pad parking machines.

Please bring and keep your ticket with you during your visit, either on a phone or printed out. To ensure we are able to control numbers and meet NHS track and trace requirements we are checking tickets during the day across the grounds.

Once at YSP you are free to explore and spend as much time here as you’d like.

Toilets

Toilets in YSP Centre and Bothy Garden are open at reduced capacity and with enhanced cleaning in place. Handwashing facilities are available in each individual toilet. Due to limited space, two people or one social bubble will be able to enter the toilets at once and exit following a one-way system. Portaloos are available in the Learning car park and accessible daily. Toilets inside the Learning Centre cafe will be open at weekends.

Face coverings

Face coverings must be worn in all YSP buildings for the safety of visitors and staff, and in line with Government guidelines for enclosed spaces. Staff and visitors may choose whether to wear face coverings out of doors.

Help us keep YSP safe and maintain a safe distance from people outside of your group, including YSP staff and volunteers, throughout your visit.

Shop

The YSP Centre Shop is now closed.

Food and Drink

Takeaway coffee and snacks are available to purchase from the outdoor kiosk at YSP Centre daily and at YSP Learning at weekends. Please bring a contactless enabled debit or credit card to pay, as we will not be accepting cash.

Please look for and follow COVID-19 signage throughout your visit. It is vital that you follow all of the instructions to make this a safe visit for you and everyone else.

Take a look at our new map before you visit, so you can find your way around the new one-way routes.

As always, please adhere to the YSP Code and for your safety and others, please do not touch the sculptures.

Please do not leave litter. We are encouraging people to take their rubbish home where possible to reduce the health risk to our colleagues.

Do I have to book?

Yes, we have implemented a booking system, which allows us to manage the timing and the number of people entering YSP. It also means you don’t need to use the touch-pad parking machines on arrival, and that we can follow NHS track and trace guidelines.

How do I book?

Tickets can be booked up to two weeks in advance through our new ticketing system. Full details can be found at www.ysp.org.uk or you can go directly to Eventbrite at www.eventbrite.co.uk/e/ysp-tickets-tickets-113327074330

We support green methods of transport, such as by bike or on foot and yes, you will still need to book in advance and show your ticket confirmation.

How much is a YSP ticket?

£6 per person. A ticket includes access to the open air galleries and YSP grounds and parking. Due to the current national lockdown, the indoor galleries at YSP remain closed at this time. The charge is based on our experience of average car occupancy and the average amount of time visitors spend at YSP but we now need every person to contribute in order to survive.
