More- Art Outdoors
Jordy Kerwick: Hydra vs Bear
Hydra vs Bear depicts a battle between the gigantic water serpent from Greek mythology and a double-headed bear. Cast in bronze, the two beasts are poised mid-attack: Hydra rises from the ground ready to strike, while Bear lunges forward with claws and teeth bared. - Art Outdoors
Sophie Ryder: Sitting
Animals are at the heart of Sophie Ryder’s art practice and her life. Her enduring character known as the Lady Hare combines a female body with the head of a hare, a mystical creature in folklore. - Art Outdoors
Giuseppe Penone: Idee di pietra – Olmo
Idee di pietra translates from the Italian to ‘ideas of stone’, and Penone likens the shaping of the boulder to the process of thought and idea generation. The sculpture embodies the symbiotic relationship between art and nature, inviting us to think more carefully about both. - Event
Teacher CPD: Textiles in the Landscape
This hands-on interactive session will explore the use of textiles in 3D contemporary art-making. Teachers will create and display their own textile sculptures in the grounds of YSP using experimental methods and a resourceful approach.
