Friends

We are very excited to welcome you back to YSP – we’ve missed you too!

YSP began a phased opening from Wednesday 29 July 2020, please see our FAQs for details of what will be open when you visit.

Due to Covid-19 we have changed the usual entry model of free entry with £12 per day parking, to free parking with £6 per person, per day charge for entry. If your Friends membership includes parking, please read the details below carefully to find out what tickets you are entitled to as part of your membership.

Please note that everyone will need to book a ticket before arrival to avoid disappointment on the day - this includes Friends and any guests that may visit the Park with you.

Please click here and head to the “Tickets” section to book.

What does this mean for my Friends Membership?

I have an Individual Membership, Senior/Student Membership, or a Joint Membership without parking

Instead of paying for parking you will now need to book a ticket for each person visiting YSP. Please select the “YSP Friend (without car parking permit)” ticket option for yourself and any other Friends accompanying you, this is charged at £6 per day. Please select the option “YSP Ticket” for any non-Friends that are accompanying you.

Please make sure to bring your Friends card and your tickets with you when you visit.

I have an Individual Membership or Senior/Student Membership with parking

Previously you have been able to park one car for free under your membership, under the new booking system both you and one guest will be able to access free tickets to YSP. Please select the “YSP Friend (with car parking permit)” ticket option for yourself, and for one guest accompanying you. Please also add your membership number next to your guest’s name when prompted.

Please make sure to bring your Friends card and your tickets with you when you visit, so our team knows that you and one guest are exempt from the entry charge.

If you are bringing more than one guest with you, they will need to book tickets under the option “YSP Ticket”. This is charged at £6 per day.

I have a Joint Membership with parking

Previously you have been able to park two cars for free under your membership, under the new booking system you and your household will be able to access free tickets to YSP.

Please select the “YSP Friend (with car parking permit)” ticket option for yourself, and for up to four other guests accompanying you. Please also add your membership number next to your guest’s names when prompted.

Please make sure to bring both of your Friends cards and your tickets with you when you visit, so our team knows that you and up to four guests are exempt from the entry charge.

Will I continue to receive my Friends benefits?

You will continue to receive the same benefits as before, including 10% off in our award-winning shop* and on all YSP food and drink.

I would like to upgrade my Friends membership to include parking / to a joint membership

Please contact us at friends@ysp.org.uk we would be happy to discuss options to upgrade your membership with you.

I have lost my membership card, will I be able to access my free entry without it?

You will need your Friends card to access your benefits and, if you have Parking included, to be exempt from YSP entry charges. Please contact us at friends@ysp.org.uk if you have misplaced your Friends card.

There are no YSP Tickets available, can I book Friends tickets even though I am not a Friend?

Friends Tickets are one of the exclusive benefits YSP offers to Friends, ensuring that members are able to book tickets even during busy periods such as bank holidays. Please do not book Friends tickets unless you are a YSP Friend, you will need a valid membership card to access YSP with Friends tickets.

I'm not sure what my Friends Membership number is

Your Friends Membership number is the 4 digit number displayed on the back of your Membership card beneath the expiry date.

Do I need to book a ticket for my children/grandchildren?

Visitor numbers will be managed through the new online booking system, we need all visitors to have a ticket including children. For children and teenagers under 18 you can select a “Under 18s YSP Ticket” which is free of charge.

How long can we stay when we arrive?

Please arrive within the time slot stated on your ticket, once at YSP you are free to explore and spend as much time here as you’d like.

My Friends Membership has expired, how can I renew?

To renew your Friends membership online log in to your Friends account at ysp.org.uk/login select 'My Account' and 'Renew'. If you don't know your log in details, or are unable to renew online, please contact us at friends@ysp.org.uk or 01924 832632 with your name, address, contact number and if possible your previous Membership number.

When will I receive my three-month Friends extension?

In light of our closure due to Covid-19 we offered all YSP Friends a three-month extension of their membership (including parking). This extension will be applied automatically when you renew your membership and will be reflected on your subsequent membership cards. You do not need to do anything to receive your extension if you are renewing your membership.

If you have decided not to renew your membership and would like to receive a three-month extension please contact friends@ysp.org.uk nearer the time your membership expires. We will add three months onto your Friends account and send out a temporary card to cover the additional period.

Will my direct debit change as a result of the three-month extension?

No, we would not change a direct debit date without first informing the account holder and receiving their permission. Your direct debit will continue to be debited on your usual date, the three-month extension will be reflected on the expiry date on your membership card.

If you would like to change your future direct debit dates please contact us at friends@ysp.org.uk after you have received your three-month extension, we would be happy to arrange this for you.
