Michelle Vesey

Michelle Vesey is an artist, educator, and creative facilitator, passionate about exploring art as a process of enquiry and discovery. She works with children, young people, families, and adults, using art in schools, galleries, and community spaces to nurture curiosity and creativity.

Michelle’s practice spans drawing, photography, film, and image-making technologies, to explore and consider the relation between real world and images. Her work with people focuses on how we develop knowledge and meaning through creative activity, always embracing the value of play in the artistic process.

Michelle studied Fine Art at Sheffield Hallam University graduating with a First-Class Honours degree in 2007. She holds a PGCE in Art and Design Education from Manchester Met, and an MA Arts and Learning (Distinction) from Goldsmiths. She has worked as an artist educator with YSP for over 10 years. She also works as an Assistant Director for the A.T.E. Trust, running residential holidays that foster learning, development, and community through play.

Moore created twelve Upright Motives in the mid 1950s. In their powerful symbolism these pieces owe much to the tall, upright stones, known as menhirs, from prehistoric times. Moore brought all these influences together to create forms which are unmistakably his own.
