
Teacher-led visits for educational groups
We welcome schools, colleges and universities to explore YSP on a teacher-led visit. It is essential that all groups book in advance as capacity is limited.
Once your booking is confirmed, we will provide your group with an information pack containing all the practical information you will need for your visit and a full site risk assessment. We cannot guarantee availability for last minute bookings so please try to give as much notice as possible.
How to book a teacher-led visit
To book your visit please email our Learning Programme Coordinator on learning@ysp.org.uk.
Please include the following information:
- Preferred date(s) for your visit
- Name of organisation, email address and phone number
- Name of group leader, email address and mobile number
- Number of learners and year group
- Number of group leaders
- Any accessibility requirements
- Approximate arrival and departure times
- If you plan on visiting The Weston with your group

Pricing for teacher-led visits
There is a charge for teacher-led visits to YSP for educational groups. This fee covers booking administration and contributes to the upkeep and maintenance of YSP. It also covers the use of on-site facilities and parking. The cost of your visit is based on the total number of pupils/students. Group leaders are free.
- Up to 15 pupils/students: £15+VAT
- Up to 35 pupils/students: £35+VAT
- Thereafter a £35+VAT charge is added for any additional pupils/students up to 35 people.
- SEND specialist schools/colleges: FREE

Essential information
Payment
Payments are non-refundable but changes to bookings can be made up to a week ahead of the visit. Please email learning@ysp.org.uk to amend your visit. Payment can be made online or by cheque and details will be included in your confirmation email.
Booking confirmation
Your booking is not confirmed until we respond with a confirmation email. Please ensure this is in place prior to arranging your transport. Once your booking is processed, a confirmation email will be sent with an accompanying information pack and risk assessment. Please read the information pack carefully as it contains all the practical information you will need on the day.
Supervision
Teachers and group leaders of all teacher-led groups are responsible for the supervision and behaviour of their group. They must accompany their group at all times. Please see the teacher-led information pack for further information.
Required learner/group leader ratios are as follows:
1 Adult for every 6 Pupils in School Years 1 to 3
1 Adult for every 10 Pupils in School Years 4 to 6
1 Adult for every 10 Pupils in Schools Years 7 to 11
1 Adult for every 15 Students in Years 12 to 13
Lunch during your visit
We regret we cannot provide an indoor lunchroom for teacher-led groups, although groups can use our designated outdoor picnic areas. An indoor lunchroom can be booked as part of an artist-led workshop or tour. Find out more about booking our artist-led workshops.
Parking
Please ask your coach to arrive and drop students off at YSP’s Main Visitor Entrance. Your coach must then drive to our coach park accessed via our Park Lane entrance.
Visiting The Weston
If planning to visit The Weston with your group, this must be booked in addition to your self-guided visit. Please let us know when you send your booking enquiry. Capacity for The Weston is limited.

A rare opportunity to witness internationally acclaimed ceramic artist Florian Gadsby in action, as he demonstrates the throwing of his work. Hosted by Toby Brundin, Director of Ceramic Review Magazine, during this 1 hour event, Florian will demonstrate how he throws his tableware and answer questions from the audience whilst he works.
