About Signing Sculpture: BSL Training for Interpreters with Martin Glover
Build your skills in British Sign Language (BSL) interpretation for art and sculpture, both indoors and outdoors.
Join d/Deaf architect and facilitator Martin Glover for a practical workshop and earn 3 CPD points. After a hot drink and introduction in the Visitor Centre, we’ll walk through YSP's landscape and explore ways to interpret sculpture outside and in a gallery setting, using BSL.
• Deepen your knowledge of visual language relating to sculptural terms in BSL.
• Develop your skills for interpreting artworks in different environments.
• Build confidence in providing meaningful interpretation for BSL users visiting galleries and exhibitions.
Whether you’re new to art interpretation or looking to build on your skills, this supportive, interactive session will leave you better equipped to make art experiences more inclusive for all.
This event is run in partnership with the Yorkshire Interpreters Network (YIN).
