About Lesley Barnes and Ross McAuley: Fashion Play
Step inside the colourful world of Fashion Play this summer –a bold, playful display of wooden dancers and figurative mobiles in the Upper Space, opening on Saturday 12 July.
Fashion Play will feature an expressive collection of beautifully designed, handmade wooden figures, celebrating movement and form, inspired by Barnes’ own recent book of the same name.
As well as new sculptural works and illustrative prints, the exhibition will feature large-scale figurative mobiles, based on spots and stripes which are so synonymous with Barnes’ work.
All work is for sale.
YSP is a registered charity. All proceeds from sales supports the artists and YSP.
Living and working in Glasgow, Barnes is an illustrator and her distinctive, bright and joyful work spans the worlds of fashion, music, children’s literature, film and product design. She has worked with clients such as The Hepworth Wakefield, Tate, V&A, Apple, Google, The New Yorker and New York Times.
Also based in Glasgow, McAuley is a Canadian painter whose work has been exhibited at the National Portrait Gallery, the Royal Scottish Academy and Glasgow Print Studio among others.

Henry Moore: Large Two Forms
Large Two Forms can be found in the Country Park – Moore’s favourite area of the Bretton Estate, where he enjoyed seeing his sculptures surrounded by sheep. The colossal sculpture is impressive in both scale and composition, appearing very different from every angle and continuing the theme of points that almost meet, which appears in much of Moore’s work. - Art Outdoors

Octopus (Polipo) is formed of hand-cut, coloured glass tiles which are carefully pieced together over the concrete and steel structure. It is a key example of Tadei’s use of mosaic to elevate everyday forms into a more ethereal realm.
