About In Conversation: Claye Bowler and Emii Alrai
Join us for an In Conversation event with artists Claye Bowler and Emii Alrai, as part of the expanded programme for Claye Bowler: Dig Me a Grave.
Taking place on the final weekend of the exhibition, this special event offers a chance to hear the artists reflect on their practices and shared themes.
Claye and Emii are two really exciting artists at similar points of their careers. Both artists use sculpture and installation to navigate personal and collective histories, exploring themes of identity, landscape and transformation.
This will be a unique opportunity to join a conversation between two important artists whose distinct voices are shaping the landscape of contemporary British sculpture.

Willem Boshoff: Flagstone
Willem Boshoff’s Flagstone is a sculpture and a seat, positioned here overlooking Upper Lake to provide a space for rest and contemplation. In summer 2018, Boshoff spent a month at YSP, researching and meticulously recording the flora and fauna. Each day he walked the paths around the Park and became particularly fond of the areas around the Lakes. The residency was followed by an exhibition in Upper Space and the subsequent gift of Flagstone as a permanent work for YSP’s landscape.
