About Heritage Open Day: Bridges of Bretton
Celebrate Heritage Open Day with YSP's Heritage volunteers and Head of Estates, Mark Chesman, on a guided tour of the Bridges of Bretton, exploring their design, function, and place in Yorkshire Sculpture Park's heritage and ongoing care.
Visit several bridges within the historic park and gardens that made up the Bretton Estate which is now home to Yorkshire Sculpture Park with YSP's knowledgable heritage team. Learn more about how the bridges were constructed in the 1700s, the activities which took place on the lakes and how YSP cares for these historic landmarks.

David Nash: Seventy-one Steps
71 oak slabs were charred and oiled on site before installing, and were placed to work with the lie of the land. The steps are completed by 30 tonnes of coal surrounding the steps, creating a stunning installation that will erode and change over time. - Event
