About Angela Harding and Simon Armitage: In Conversation

Join artist, illustrator, and print maker Angela Harding and Poet Laureate, Simon Armitage for a special in-conversation where these two creatives come together to discuss the relationship between image and the spoken word and their connections to YSP.

Previously collaborating on the publication Blossomise, with Harding as illustrator to Armitage’s words, for Angela’s exhibition -  A Chronicle of Birds and Beasts - at YSP Centre, Simon has written words for Angela’s illustrations, in a reversal of the more usual writer/illustrator practice.

There will be a book signing directly following the in-conversation where both Angela and Simon will be signing copies of their books.  Merchandise developed for the exhibition will also be for sale at YSP Shop which Angela will be happy to sign.

This event will take place in the Visitor Centre auditorium.

    Internationally known for his abstract stone sculptures, Masayuki Koorida commonly works with granite or black or white marble. The artist’s works are directly carved and highly polished to a smooth finish.

    Moore created twelve Upright Motives in the mid 1950s. In their powerful symbolism these pieces owe much to the tall, upright stones, known as menhirs, from prehistoric times. Moore brought all these influences together to create forms which are unmistakably his own.
