YSP Learning is proud to support Arts Award. We hold events throughout the year to support children and young people in their Arts Award journey. 

Do children and young people in your life want to be creative, and learn about contemporary sculpture and artists? Join our exciting programme of activity that leads to a nationally-recognised Arts Award qualification.

Our Arts Award offer is a unique programme of events that give children and young people inspiration and insight into the arts through specialist art skills, exclusive access to curators and resident artists, and the opportunity to respond creatively, sharing their ideas and understanding.

As you gain confidence and expand your experience and ability, take the opportunity to progress your skills and knowledge to Explore level.


Supporting Arts Award at YSP

Created by local artist ArtJohn in collaboration with The Hepworth Wakefield and Yorkshire Sculpture Park, learn about sculpture making techniques using found objects and inspired by artist Barbara Hepworth. Suitable for: EYFS, KS1, KS2.

With thanks to Our Year Wakefield Place-based Curriculum, which was co-produced with teachers in Wakefield.

 Arts Award Discover at Home 

If you've been inspired by your visit to YSP, you can complete Arts Award Discover at Home. This introductory award is aimed at children aged 11 and under (and is open to children and young people aged up to 25). 

What do children have to do to achieve Arts Award Discover at Home? 

  • Part A: Take Part  - Discover the arts and and take part in different activities 
  • Part B: Find Out  - Find out about artists or makers and their work 
  • Part C: Share  - Share your learning, opinions and experiences with others 

These three parts are then recorded in an Arts Award logbook which can be downloaded here.
