About Emily Sutton: Town and Country
The largest solo exhibition to date by illustrator Emily Sutton took over YSP Centre throughout winter 2014.
Adorning the walls of YSP Centre, Town and Country featured a delightful display of original and intricate paintings and screen-prints, along with a flock of beautifully embroidered birds nesting in the YSP Shop window.
Incorporating a love of pattern and detail, Sutton took inspiration from her recent travels to Paris and Southern France as well as scenes closer to her native Yorkshire, including YSP and her own home – which she references in her first ever limited edition lithograph print September Dresser (2014), produced by Curwen Studio and exclusive to YSP.

Ursula von Rydingsvard: Heart in Hand
Heart in Hand relates to an earlier, larger work called Luba that was made in cedar and bronze, and is on permanent display at Storm King Art Center in upstate New York. Both works are intended to suggest a sense of protection and nurturing, like the arm of a mother cradling a baby. - Art Outdoors
