Welcome back to YSP

Please plan your visit

YSP is a registered charity and has lost £4 in every £5 since March. We need your support more than ever.

Welcome Back

We're excited to welcome you back to YSP. The Parkland and Formal Gardens are open to enjoy modern and contemporary sculpture in the open air. The Underground Gallery is also open, so you can enjoy the vibrant major exhibition by Joana Vasconcelos, and in the Upper Space you can see Brian Fell: Steelworks.

The team has been working hard to ensure your visit will be as safe as possible so you will notice some changes. All visitors will need to book a ticket in advance so that we can manage numbers, comply with NHS track and trace, and raise vital funds at this difficult time. Please read and understand the information on our website, including our new Visitor Guidelines and FAQs

We're looking forward to seeing you soon.

Tickets

All visitors need to book and pay for a ticket in advance. This includes if you travel by car, cycle or on foot. We've implemented a booking system so that we can manage numbers onsite and adhere to NHS track and trace guidelines.

Tickets cost £6 per person. A ticket gives access to the Underground Gallery, open air galleries and grounds, and includes parking. Under 18s are free. If you have a parking permit you do not have to pay for your ticket but you still need to book. All tickets are non-refundable and non-transferable. Please make sure the details on your booking are correct.

Please only arrive in your allocated time slot. Once at YSP you can stay until the end of the day if you wish. Please bring your ticket and keep it with you during your visit, either on a phone or printed. We will be checking tickets across the grounds.

Visitor Guidelines

The YSP Code remains as important as ever and is accompanied by new guidelines to address the specific challenges we all now face.

Do I need to wear a face covering? What is currently open? Is there anywhere to buy food?

Our FAQs include everything you need to know about planning and booking your visit to YSP and what to expect on the day.

Please read and understand these guidelines before you visit.

Parking

All visitors need to book a timed entry ticket in advance, so that we can manage numbers onsite, keep everyone safe, and follow NHS track and trace guidelines. Your ticket includes car parking. Parking machines will not be in use.

There are unofficial car parks operating near YSP. The payment to these goes to private enterprises and takes money away from our charitable work. Please help us continue to bring internationally-acclaimed art to Yorkshire for everyone to enjoy by purchasing a ticket and parking in an official YSP car park. We need your support more than ever.

Please note that only our main YSP Centre car park is currently open. The Weston car park / entrance and Learning car park / entrance (via Park Lane) are closed.

Accessibility

Some areas of the Park can be difficult to access due to uneven terrain. We advise wheelchair and mobility scooter users seek route and ground condition advice from staff at the Information Point at the YSP Centre.

Mobility scooters can be hired from Reception in the Visitor Centre.

There is priority parking for Blue Badge holders in the main car park. Please note that you will still need to pre-book a timed entry ticket in advance.

Accessible toilets for independent use are available in the Visitor Centre and YSP Learning. A Changing Places toilet in the Learning Building remains accessible for wheelchair user and carer access by radar key.

Families

YSP is fantastic for families. You can explore and play together in 500 acres of beautiful landscape with contemporary sculpture throughout.

We are pleased to offer baby changing facilities, family-friendly food, places to picnic, and buggy-friendly paths. We are proud to be breastfeeding friendly.

Under 18s are free, but everyone has to book a ticket to help us manage numbers.

Food & Drink

The Cafe at the Visitor Centre is open with seating indoors and on the balcony, with social distancing and safety measures in place.

The Cafe at YSP Learning is open for takeaway food and drink only.

There will be a limited selection of hot and cold drinks, ice creams, cakes and sandwiches. Please bring a contactless enabled debit or credit card, as we will not be accepting cash.

You are welcome to bring a picnic to enjoy at YSP. There are designated picnic areas across the site. Please help us keep YSP tidy and dispose of your litter. We are encouraging people to take their rubbish home where possible.

Bring your dog

We welcome dogs at YSP but please remember not everyone loves dogs. With this in mind, please follow these simple rules:

Keep your dog on a short lead at ALL times
Clean up after your dog – there are bins throughout the Park
To protect livestock and wildlife, dogs are NOT permitted around Upper Lake or Menagerie Wood
Assistance dogs are permitted throughout the Park
