Safeguarding Statement

Yorkshire Sculpture Park upholds the principle that all individuals have the right to protection from abuse or harm and promotes a culture and environment that is safe, inclusive and welcoming for all. We are committed to safeguarding the wellbeing of children, young people and adults, including employees, volunteers and every visitor who accesses the site, uses our facilities, or participates in our activities and learning programmes.

All Yorkshire Sculpture Park staff and volunteers share responsibility for safeguarding and for implementing the organisation’s safeguarding procedures. We also recognise the important role
visitors can play in helping us to keep Yorkshire Sculpture Park safe. If you are concerned about your own wellbeing or safety, or that of anyone else while visiting, please speak to a member of staff.

We respond to safeguarding concerns promptly and with care. A member of our Board of Trustees acts as the Designated Safeguarding Lead and oversees our safeguarding practice. We follow robust procedures to protect those in our care, ensure staff and volunteers are safely recruited and appropriately trained, and expect our partners to work to the same standards.
Safeguarding is integral to all our exhibitions, events, workshops and learning activity. We are committed to listening, supporting those who raise concerns and working with relevant agencies
where necessary.
