Celebrate Museum Shop Sunday with Yorkshire Sculpture Park

As the festive season approaches, the excitement is building across the retail team at Yorkshire Sculpture Park (YSP). One of the best parts of my job is getting a first look at the beautiful new gifts and products arriving in our shops ahead of Christmas. This year, I’m especially thrilled to share that we’ll once again be taking part in Museum Shop Sunday on 30 November – and to celebrate, we’re offering 20%* off everything in-store and online for one day only.

Museum Shop Sunday is a global celebration of the vital role that museum and gallery shops play in supporting arts and culture. Organised by Cultural Enterprises, the event brings together cultural attractions from around the world to highlight how every purchase made in a museum shop directly supports creativity, education, and community engagement.

At YSP, retail is an essential part of our work. We’re proud that our gift shops have gained national recognition for their quality, individuality, and commitment to supporting artists and makers. This special day is a wonderful opportunity for visitors to explore what makes our shops so distinctive – and to find meaningful, well-made gifts that champion independent creators and artists.

Both our Weston and Visitor Centre gift shops will be open and fully stocked for the occasion, and the 20% discount will also be available online at www.yspshop.org.uk. Whether you’re planning a visit to the Park for a crisp winter walk or shopping from the comfort of home, it’s the perfect opportunity to discover something special ahead of Christmas.

Our retail offer is all about celebrating creativity and craftsmanship. From bespoke exhibition-inspired merchandise to limited-edition prints and artist-designed homeware, many of our products are created in collaboration with YSP’s exhibiting artists. We also love working with Yorkshire-based makers and small studios to bring you locally sourced food and drink, ceramics, jewellery, stationery, and contemporary craft. There’s something for everyone – whether you’re hunting for a thoughtful stocking filler or a lasting piece of art.

Another highlight of my role is seeing how much visitors value taking home a little piece of YSP. Every purchase truly makes a difference. As an independent charitable trust and accredited museum, the income from our shops goes directly back into supporting YSP’s mission – from maintaining our stunning landscape and presenting world-class art in the open air, to delivering learning programmes that inspire people of all ages.

Museum Shop Sunday is a timely reminder that shopping can be about more than just buying gifts – it can be an act of support for the places and people who make a difference in our communities.
