Internationally known for his abstract stone sculptures, Masayuki Koorida commonly works with granite or black or white marble. The artist’s works are directly carved and highly polished to a smooth finish. In this process, Koorida transforms the resistance and hardness of the material into a softness, alluding to organic changeability.
The elegant, elliptical shape of Form Twist, with its sensuously polished surface, invites gentle exploration and touch. Its reflective, curved black form creates a fascinating contrast with the colours and textures of the natural woodland setting.

Roger Hiorns: Seizure
In 2008 Roger Hiorns transformed an empty council flat in Southwark, London into Seizure, a sparkling blue world of copper sulphate crystals. The work was created using 75,000 litres of liquid copper sulphate, which was pumped into the former dwelling to create a strangely beautiful and somewhat menacing crystalline growth on the walls, floor, ceiling and even the bath of the abandoned flat. - Art Outdoors
Niki de Saint Phalle: Buddha
Niki de Saint Phalle began creating figurative works in the mid-1960s. In response to the pressures of domestic life as daughter, mother and wife, she created her iconic Nana figures. The colourful and voluptuous sculptural works are celebrations of the female form. These goddess-like figures continued as a form of expression throughout the artist’s life, and paralleled modern feminist efforts to reconsider and revalue the female body.
