Job Description

Are you an experienced arts education professional with a passion for innovative learning? Do you thrive on developing meaningful opportunities for engagement with art across all stages of formal education?

Yorkshire Sculpture Park is looking for a Formal Learning Manager (Maternity Cover) to lead the delivery and strategic development of our formal learning programme. This role is pivotal in ensuring that our learning offer is ambitious, inclusive and responsive to the needs of learners and educators across Key Stages 1–5, Further and Higher Education.

Each year, YSP welcomes over 40,000 participants to its Learning Programme. As Formal Learning Manager, you will oversee the design and delivery of formal learning experiences that support curriculum links and creative exploration, while nurturing partnerships with schools, colleges, universities, and key sector organisations including Arts Council England, and the Local Cultural Education Partnership (LCEP).

You will manage a small team, plan and deliver high-quality CPD for teachers, develop learning resources, and contribute to best practice in the sector. This role requires a collaborative, confident and creative individual with strong leadership skills, excellent communication, and a deep understanding of the value of learning in and through the arts in an outdoor setting.

The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of managing formal learning programmes in a cultural or educational setting, experience of partnership working at a strategic level, and a collaborative approach to working across departments. A strong interest in contemporary art and a commitment to inclusive, learner-centred approaches is essential.
