Subject To Change

Subject to Change is a partnership project with South West Yorkshire Foundation Health Trust's Creative Minds programme. It is open to adults of working age with lived experience of mental ill health, living in Wakefield or Kirklees.

‘I look forward to coming here so much. It gives my mind focus and a sense of calm.’

Subject to Change launched in 2017, with sessions running twice a month over a two-year period, led by artist Kate Sully. Each session was facilitated by a professional artist and included lunch, followed by a walk to look at sculpture in the open air or inside one of the galleries, plus creative activites inspired by the sculpture. Participants worked with textiles, drawing and painting, sculpture, and sound recording.

YSP is currently running a programme of taster workshops in communities in preparation for a new programme in 2019.

‘While I have been coming to the group, I have found the support and creativity, linked with the stunning location, help me find my voice. ’
