Update 1 November 2020

Following the government announcement that England is entering a period of additional restrictions, all indoor galleries, shops and restaurants at YSP will close from Thursday 5 November until further notice.

At YSP we are mindful of the importance of outdoor spaces being available for wellbeing – for people to find solace whilst walking in the open air, connecting with nature and art. As we have the necessary safety measures and systems in place across the 500 acres of historic landscape to enable us to remain open, we will continue to welcome visitors to open air areas. We will review this continually.

Takeaway coffee and snacks will be available from the outdoor coffee bar at YSP Centre. Toilets will be accessible at YSP Centre and the Bothy Garden, and portaloos will remain in place. Capacity reduction, one-way systems and social distancing will apply.

You may visit YSP with members of your household or support bubble, or meet one person who is not in your household or support bubble.

Tickets will be made available one week in advance and released on Mondays. Please keep checking here and our social media channels for updates before booking.

If you have booked a ticket for Thursday 5 November onwards, we will be in touch.

Thank you for your continued support. We hope you all remain safe and well during this difficult time.

Previous update, 15 July 2020

We're excited to welcome you back to YSP. The Parkland and Formal Gardens are open to enjoy modern and contemporary sculpture in the open air. The Underground Gallery is open, where you can enjoy the vibrant major exhibition by Joana Vasconcelos, and in the Upper Space you can see Brian Fell: Steelworks.

The team has been working hard to ensure your visit will be as safe as possible, so you'll notice some changes before and during your visit. New signage, one-way walking routes and social distancing measures are in place, and face coverings must be worn in all YSP buildings, to keep our visitors, staff and volunteers safe. Visitors are not permitted to meet people from outside their household or support bubble indoors as YSP is currently in Tier 2.

All visitors will need to pre-book a timed entry ticket in advance, so that we can manage numbers onsite, keep everyone safe, and follow the Government's track and trace guidelines. Once booked you can stay for as long as you like on the day.

The YSP Code remains as important as ever and is accompanied by new guidelines to address the specific challenges we all now face. Please read and understand the information on our website, including our new Visitor Guidelines and FAQs, before you visit. Everything you need to know to plan your visit to YSP can be found on our Visit page.

You can also read the full YSP COVID-19 risk assessment. This is a working document which will be reviewed and developed in line with changing Government regulations and our own working experiences.

Thank you for your support. We can't wait to see you back at YSP soon.
